Tutorial Tuesday :: Boho Maxi Dress from Sweet Verbena

This gorgeous Boho Maxi Dress Tutorial from Katy of Sweet Verbena is a figure flattering fast sew that is sure to become the perfect addition to your handmade wardrobe. Katy sewed up her dress using a white jersey knit and then dyed it with RIT dye. Throughout her tutorial she mentions several tips and tricks including how to mix the perfect color and how to avoid uneven dying. If you want to experiment with dyeing your own dress, you can start with a solid white cotton spandex or cotton jersey, or you could try using one of our many black and white print knits.

For you new dress you'll want a light to medium weight stretch knit fabric with good drape, like Cotton Jersey or Cotton Lycra knits. A few of my picks from the store:
