Tutorial Tuesday :: The Cozy Cowl from Mary Martha Mama

Using only 1 yard of your favorite knit fabric, you can easily add a fun pop of color to any outfit with this adorable Cozy Cowl Scarf Tutorial from Cat of Mary Martha Mama! Before you know it, you'll want to layer up with several of these simple and stylish handmade cowls that compliment each outfit with bold colors, lovely florals, fun novelties, basics, and more. Click here for the entire tutorial and happy sewing!

This tutorial is incredibly easy to follow with clear pictures that take you every step of the way. When you're finishing your scarf you will pull it right side out, leaving a small opening to hand stitch shut with an invisible stitch of your preference, like a ladder stitch.

Depending on the look and feel that you want, you can sew your cowl scarf in just about any stretch knit. Cat used Cotton Lycra, but you can also try Cotton Jersey, French Terry, Brushed Poly Spandex, and more fabulous knit fabrics. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images* of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!
*Please note that all images submitted are subject for Girl Charlee promotional use.

Happy Sewing!
