Tutorial Tuesday :: Lace-Back Underwear Pattern Hack from Ohhh Lulu

Sewing lingerie is easier than you may have expected and Sarah Norwood of Ohhh Lulu helps you every step of the way! Ohhh Lulu Sewing Patterns are perfect for sewists of all experience levels to make their own undergarments, with many customization options to help create the perfect fit. As an added bonus, Sarah's Ohhh Lulu Blog is full of informative How-To's for pattern hacks and sewing techniques, including this Lace-Back Lola. Stretch lace sews up like a regular knit and can add a delicate, feminine touch to undergarments. Enjoy!

This tutorial features Ohhh Lulu's Lola Panties Sewing Pattern, but you can use the same technique on panties like the Grace and Nora as well. Shop the entire collection of Ohhh Lulu Sewing Patterns here.
When you are cutting out the lace back fabric, Sarah notes that the leg opening on the pattern piece is curved, so it will not match perfectly when lined up with the straight edge of the lace. This is completely normal and will not effect the finished look or fit, as shown below.

Our gorgeous new collection of high end designer stretch lace is now available at girlcharlee.com. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!

Happy Sewing!
