Tutorial Tuesday :: Cowl Neck Top from Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom

Be both cozy and stylish during the cooler months in this Cowl Neck Top Tutorial from Jamie Sanders of Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom. Jaime put together this tutorial as a trendy pattern hack for her FREE Ladies Raglan Tunic Sewing Pattern, and it is so cute! This top can be styled in many different ways, including off the shoulder, and can be dressed up or down for different occasions like holiday parties and family gatherings. All you need is Jaime's free sewing pattern and  a couple yards of your favorite comfy knit from girlcharlee.com and you'll be ready to sew! Enjoy!

As an added bonus, Jaime also created a girl's version of this top. Get ready for Mommy & Me matching this holiday season!

A light to medium weight knit with a good drape is perfect for sewing this top! Jaime does suggest double layering the cowl if using a thinner fabric (her example uses a double layer). Start your search with cotton jersey, cotton lycra, and hacci sweater knits. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!

Happy Sewing!
