September Customer Spotlight :: Heidi Nelson of Adelaide's Boutique

Our September Customer Spotlight features Heidi Nelson of Adelaide's Boutique, an adorable handmade clothing shop perfect for all the little ladies in your life.  When starting off, Heidi had never sewn anything before, but she knew that with hard work and the support of her friends and family she could make it big! Now, six years later, Heidi is running her own successful business by sewing beautiful garments while staying home with her kids. Here is more about Heidi and her company.

About Heidi ::

My name is Heidi and I created Adelaide's Boutique, a small home-based clothing company for little girls. Adelaide's Boutique was started when I had my first daughter, Adelaide, as a way for me to be able to stay home and not have to go back and get a "real job". I had never sewn before but my goals were small. Make just enough money to stay home with Addy. I started sewing and selling dresses little by little on Etsy. Very soon after, my husband was laid off from his job and we were stuck with Adelaide's Boutique as our main source of income. So I hired some help of local seamstresses and, almost over night, it blew up into a full blown business. I have zero experience in running a business and learned most of my sewing techniques from my seamstresses but to see how far it's come in just 6 years still amazes me.

I've gone on to have 3 more kids and I am currently expecting my fifth baby in December! The business has morphed and changed a lot since the beginning. I still am not sure of where the future will take us but I'm not afraid of change and I'm excited to see what's to come.
