This pattern from Melanie is great for many reasons, but one of my favorite reasons is that you can mix and match her patterns to make either dresses or separate pieces. We recently featured her circle skirt tutorial here, which happens to utilize the same bottom piece that she uses for this dress!

To create the shape of this dress, use a medium to heavy weight fabric like a ponte de roma or cotton spandex knit. A few of my picks from the store:
