Tutorial Tuesday :: Boys Pajama Shirt from Simple Simon and Company

For this weeks Tutorial Tuesday, we have an adorable Boys Pajama Shirt Tutorial from Simple Simon & Co as one of their Project Run and Play tutorials.  To create this sweet pj top you can use either a basic tee sewing pattern or an existing tee to create your own pattern pieces. This tutorial is very easy to follow with just a few simple adjustments to your original shirt pattern, and with the added bias trim, your little one's new pajamas will look incredibly professional. Enjoy!

One detail that I love on this pajama top is that the front panel has a curved hem and the back one is square. This is such a fun retro-inspired touch! For tips and tricks on sewing with bias tape, Simple Simon and Co also linked to a very helpful bias tape tutorial found here.

A light to mid weight stable knit with 20-30% stretch like Cotton Jersey and French Terry would make for great pajamas! A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
