Tutorial Tuesday :: Oversized High Low Sweater from Elle Apparel

Things are certainly starting to cool down here in Southern California, so for this weeks Tutorial Tuesday we have this cozy Oversized High Low Sweater Tutorial from Leanne Barlow of Elle Apparel Blog.  If you've been yearning to try sewing with Hacci Sweater Knits, this is the perfect project for you, as it is both light weight and it does not require any precise measurements when sewing.  Enjoy!

I love sewing up Leann's tutorials because the instructions are incredibly easy to follow.  In this one, she uses an existing fitted tee to create her own pattern, and she provides detailed instructions and measurements on how to do so.  Since this sweater has a loose fit to it, accuracy with your measurements is not crucial.
This high low trend is great because it can be styled in numerous ways. Leann is rocking hers with jeans and heels, but I can hardly wait to wear mine with leggings and boots!

Hacci Knits are perfect for making this light weight sweater.  Try sewing one in a looser, more open knit haccis and another in a tighter jersey-like knit.  A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!

  1. I'm hoping to make this sweater in a thicker knit pattern fabric. Can you recommend one or two you sell in the shop? TIA
