Tutorial Tuesday :: DIY Patterned Leggings by Francois et Moi

Girl Charlee New Arrivals are full of fun and unique prints, and with on trend ethnics, florals, mods, and more, there is something for everyone to love. When I find a fun print that I need to have, my go-to sewing project is a fun pair of leggings that I can pair with a basic tee or blouse. For this week's Tutorial Tuesday, we have this very easy-to-follow DIY Patterned Leggings Tutorial from Erin Francois of  Francois et moi that you will want to sew again and again.

Using an old pair of leggings, it is very simple to draft your own pattern (especially since there are no fancy closures or zippers to deal with), and Erin takes you every step of the way. When tracing your old leggings, don't forget to mark a seam allowance about a 1/2" away.

Cotton Lycra Fabric is great for sewing up leggings because it has a 4-way stretch, which is ideal for a good fit and added comfort. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
