Muse Patterns
Muse Patterns are designed by Kat Hardisty in Wellington, New Zealand. A lover of vintage styles, particularly those from the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's, Kat designs modern sewing patterns with vintage touches that are easily wearable and customizable by everyone. Each Muse pattern is designed to be versatile, providing multiple views and mix-and-match options.
Muse Patterns Natalie Dress and Top Sewing Pattern ::
Natalie is a knee-length dress, maxi dress, or top, made up in knit fabric. A triangular inset at the bust, diagonal seam lines on the front bodice, and gathering details are reminiscent of the 1940’s. Optional ties at the waist can be wrapped around both front and back to cinch the garment in and define the waist, or tied loosely at the back. With three lengths (top, knee length, and maxi), three sleeve lengths (short, 3/4 length and long), and optional under bust gathers, Natalie is a versatile pattern that can work from the office to the beach, and from winter to summer. Make up the knee length dress in a soft merino blend with long sleeves for a cozy winter garment, or the maxi length with short sleeves in a lightweight cotton knit for summer. For a bit of extra fun, why not play around with print direction or colour blocking on the front panels? Mix and match colours, prints and textures for a garment that’s unique to you.

Muse Patterns Jenna Cardi Sewing Pattern ::
Jenna is a fitted, round neck, button-up cardigan with two length options (hip or waist length), three sleeve options (long, 3/4, or short), and optional shoulder yoke detailing. The waist-length version is designed to go well over skirts and dresses, coming down over waistbands and then letting skirts flare out unimpeded. A wide hem band harks back to cardigan and jumper styles of the 1940’s and 1950’s. The hip-length version is great over shift dresses and trousers, and includes a hem band to help it hang well whether worn open or closed. Variation A has plain shoulders for a classic cardigan style. Variation B gathers gently into curved front shoulder yokes for a subtle 1940’s touch. Full length and 3/4 length sleeves are finished with cuffs, while short sleeves are finished with a simple hem. Full length straight sleeves come down past the wrist and are designed to be wide enough to sit comfortably over the lower part of your hand. Mix-and-match length, sleeve, and shoulder options to create up to 12 different styles.

Muse Patterns Gillian Wrap Dress Sewing Pattern ::
Gillian is a wrap-around dress, top or skirt, made up in knit fabric. With its vee neckline and yoke details, Gillian has subtle design elements reminiscent of the 1970's (the decade best known for wrap dresses) and the 1940's, while remaining modern in cut and overall look. Make up the Gillian dress or top in a soft merino blend with long sleeves for a cozy winter garment, or in the shorter length with short sleeves in a lightweight cotton knit for summer. Use a heavy knit for the skirt for winter wear with boots and tights, or go for a lightweight knit for a garment you can throw on at the beach. Gillian is great for all seasons!

Muse Patterns Sophie Cardi Sewing Pattern ::
Sophie is a cute, sporty cardigan, perfect for wearing with skirts, dresses or trousers. A fitted style, which curves gently in at the waist and flares out again over your hips. Raglan sleeves add a casual touch and also give great opportunities for mixing fabric. The cardigan sits at the high hip, making Sophie work just as well with trousers as with dresses. Sophie has three different neckline options - a classic round neck, a v neck, and a collar to give a touch of 1940's landgirl styling. There are two pocket options to play with as well - you can add patch pockets or side seam pockets with semi-circular openings. Plus, for the v neck and collar variations, you can choose between zip-up or button-up fronts. Lots of options for mixing and matching to make Sophie in your own style! The long sleeves have a classic narrow fit, and end with a cuff at the wrist for a neat and easy finish. The button bands are interfaced to provide stability and make it easy to sew button holes. Zip front versions have a narrow front facing on the inside, giving a clean and tidy finish whether the cardi is worn open or done up.
