Tutorial Tuesday :: Pattern Fusion Peplum Dress by See Kate Sew

For this weeks Tutorial Tuesday, we have the perfect Fall look, a long sleeve plaid dress! This Pattern Fusion Peplum Dress from Kate of See Kate Sew is just what you wardrobe needs for the season, and now it is easier than ever to sew one up! Pick up a couple of yards of your favorite knit at GirlCharlee.com and you can recreate this look in no time.

To get started, you'll need a few different patterns. The top is See Kate Sew Penelope Peplum Top Sewing Pattern and the skirt is Delia Creates Pleated Pencil Skirt Sewing Pattern. Additionally, you'll need these two Penelope Peplum add-ons from See Kate Sew for the finishing touches - Circle Top Add-on and Free Long Sleeve Add-on.

The instructions on how to combine the patterns is very easy to follow. As you can see below, there are only 6 simple steps, each with clear illustrations and written instruction.

Most knit fabrics with stretch (i.e. Cotton JerseyCotton LycraPonte de Roma) would be perfect for sewing up this peplum dress. You can experiment with different prints or solids, but as it is officially Fall, I suggest starting your search with some of our plaid knits. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
