Tutorial Tuesday :: Color Block Shirt Tutorial from Alida Makes

With Girl Charlee Fabrics full of so many lovely new prints, sometimes I can't decide what to make with all of them! Color blocked garments are the perfect solution because you can mix different prints and solids in unique and unexpected ways. I recently stumbled upon this amazing Color Block Shirt Tutorial from Alida Lee of Alida Makes and now I can hardly wait to sew one up for myself!
The instructions are so simple that you'll be done in no time! Additionally, Alida  links to this helpful post for further instruction on sewing the neckline and pocket.
For a t-shirt, you'll want to use a light to mid weight knit like Cotton Jersey or Cotton Lycra. The fun thing about color blocking is that you can mix different solids, stripes, and prints for a unique look every time! A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
