Tutorial Tuesday :: DIY Turban Style Headband by Simple As That

We are in love with the boho chic headback turban trend that is everywhere!  The best part is that there are so many different versions - twisted, cinched, knotted - and so many different fabrics and prints.
For this week's Tutorial Tuesday we found this guest post on Rebecca Cooper's blog, Simple As That, a simple sewing tutorial for sewing up your own turban style headband by Carissa Rasmussen of Carissa Miss. In addition to the basic tutorial, Carissa offers this FREE bow template, so that you can add an adorable bow to the top of your headband.

This was the selected craft of a monthly, local craft night and it definitely looks like it was a success. That's a whole lot of fun fabrics!
Most knit fabrics (cotton jersey, cotton lycra, ponte de roma) would be perfect for a headband. A few of my picks from the store:
Since each headband requires a very small amount of fabric, we also offer our Half Yard Cuts and our Mystery Mix 1/4 Yard Bargain Lots. This way you can practice sewing various knit materials on a smaller scale.
We hope you enjoy this tutorial and please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
