Did you know the kimono has become this seasons hottest trend!? Kimono's are a perfect way to dress up a basic tee with jeans or shorts, extremely fashionable, and so easy to make. In searching around for the best kimono tutorials for our Tutorial Tuesday feature this week I luckily found this incredible round up of kimono sewing tutorials put together by the very talented Andrea Pannell of Andrea's Notebook.  Enjoy!
Kimono Jacket with FREE Sewing Pattern by Sew Caroline
The lovely and über talented Caroline Hulse of Sew Caroline not only provided this great kimono jacket tutorial, but also this FREE sewing pattern for it. Because of the flowing nature of this lightweight kimono, the pattern generously fits women's sizes small to large. A few of my fabric picks from the store:

Charming teen sewist Pearlyn of Peabrain DIY has put together this easy-to-follow sewing tutorial for this lovely kimono. The tutorial includes a very helpful diagram to help size your kimono around your physical frame and Pearlyn kindly includes her measurements. A few of my fabric picks from the store:

Kimono Cool Tutorial by Elle Apparel
One of my favorite kimono tutorials is this one from Leanne Barlow of Elle Apparel. I love the high-low back and the separate sleeves as it adds a very professional touch. A few of my picks from the store:
Kaftan Throwover by From the Sticks
Very similar to a kimono, this kaftan tutorial from Esther of From the Sticks is a loose, drapey version. Good tip:  when using any woven fabrics that tend to fray, Esther suggests very carefully burning edges with a lighter.  A few of my picks from the store:

As she says, "a couple of cuts, a few seams, and you’re done." A few of my picks from the store:
