September Customer Spotlight :: Caroline of SewCanShe

Our September Customer Spotlight is the incredible sewist Caroline Fairbanks-Critchfield of SewCanShe. Caroline strives to inspire others to sew through her tutorials, giveaways, and sewing news. Her latest endeavor has been creating her first book with fellow blogger Sarah Markos that is a round up of selfish sewing projects from your favorite bloggers, available for purchase next month. Congratulations Caroline on your book release! Here is Caroline's story.

About Caroline ::

My name is Caroline and I am a geek. It's not really my fault, though. I come from a family of artists, computer geeks, and other crazies. My mom taught me to sew while my dad taught me to use the first home computer ever released... you know, the Apple with the green screen.

I'm also thrilled to announce that I have a book coming out... Just For You: Selfish Sewing Projects From Your Favorite SewCanShe bloggers. This book is also the result of collaboration with other bloggers and I'm so proud of what we did together! And we used lots of Girl Charlee knit fabric in the creation of it. :)

Sometime after my first little girl was born, I realized that sewing and computers could go together. I started SewCanShe.com, a free resource for sewists of all levels. I use it to blog, and also to promote other sewing blogs and participate in the larger online sewing community. SewCanShe.com features a different free sewing tutorial every day. It gives other bloggers extra traffic that day and hopefully shows my readers something they might not have otherwise found. I also send out the daily SewCanShe newsletter so my subscribers can read what's featured in case they don't have time to check.
So by happy accident or not, my home has become one where the creative spirit runs free. Raw materials come in and robots, pillows, and cute things to wear come out. With 4 kids and a husband to love, my passion for sewing is second only to them. Come see what I'm making right now at sewcanshe.com/blog.
We hope you have enjoyed reading about Caroline. If you would like to be featured in our next Customer Spotlight post, email gcblog(at)girlcharlee(dot)com and we will get in touch.
