We are big fans of all the amazing tutorials that Susan Phillips of Living With Punks features on her awesome blog and I am really digging this Mademoiselle Muscle Tee free pattern and tutorial she recently featured that is just perfect for back to school sewing for the kids. Unfortunately (fortunately??) my kids wear uniforms so my sewing for them is limited to blue, red, white only but check out the sweet prints and stripes that Susan has utilized for this easy-peasey tutorial.
I also think the fit across the shoulders and the armholes is pretty perfect!
The pattern download is for a size 5 and requires 3/4 yards of fabric, so if you size up or down adjust your fabric needs accordingly. Pictured is some cotton jersey knits and here are a few of my picks from the store:
