Tutorial Tuesday :: Short Sleeve Knit Cardigan from Sewbon

This time of year I love filling my handmade wardrobe with lightweight sweaters and cardigans for those cool mornings and evenings, so I was thrilled to find this Short Sleeve Knit Cardigan Tutorial from Erin of Sewbon. Perfect for adding a lightweight extra layer, this loose fitting sweater is great for Spring and Summer wear. Click here for the entire tutorial and happy sewing!

Though an official pdf sewing pattern is not included, Erin does provide clear illustrations with her exact measurements listed. She also recommends utilizing a French Curve to create that beautiful curved shape. Since her cardigan is open and loose fitting, this pattern will work on a number of different body types.

Depending on the look and feel that you want, most stretch knits will be perfect for recreating this cardigan. I suggest starting your search with French Terry, Brushed Poly Spandex, and Hacci Sweater Knits. A few of my picks from the store:
