Hello! My name is Stefanie from Sheri Kate Designs. My story starts almost 27 years ago. I was 10 years old when I started taking sewing lessons from my great grandmother in our hometown of Texas. I loved sewing and designing and so it began. From the time I was 14 or so I made most of my moms and sisters clothes, as well as my own. I also did many custom sewing jobs for others. Fast forward to early 2013, I was a stay at home mom of 5 (including a set of twins) and felt led to step out and start Sheri Kate Designs as a creative way to help with extra income for our growing family. Our name is inspired by combination of our daughters names. I know when I placed my first order for several hundred yards of fabric from Girl Charlee I was so nervous!
I was blown away with the response in spring of 2013 and am so grateful for how God had blessed those little steps of faith. And a huge shout out to my super supportive husband who cheers us on. By Summer I was unable to keep up with the sewing on my own, so I hired other women and stay at home moms to join our Sheri Kate Design team, and am so blessed by these precious women who help make Sheri Kate a reality. My amazing assistant, Rebecca, hand cuts each piece and then they are delivered to each of the women who help make our designs in their home. We pick them up and package them and they are on the way to you.
Our first designs were scarves and maxi skirts and we now have added more clothing and home goods to our store. Our designs are inspired by these three words, "Timeless, Classic, Simplicity." We strive to create pieces that can effortlessly transition from casual to dressy and can be worn in all seasons. We believe well made clothes that are versatile can simplify your life and make more time for what matters. We love empowering other women to be creative and help provide for their families as well. Our brand is passionate about creating every piece with excellence and care, and we are so grateful for the support of our amazing customers.
