Tutorial Tuesday :: Cute & Easy Peplum Top with FREE Pattern from It's Always Autumn

Recently Autumn Baldwin of It's Always Autumn shared how to turn her Classic Tee Sewing Pattern (size L) into an adorable peplum top! Using this Cute & Easy Peplum Top Tutorial, you too can create many stylish new peplum tops and tunics to add to your handmade wardrobe. Click here for the entire tutorial and happy sewing!

This tutorial is very easily adjusted to suit your personal style preferences. Autumn explains that she added minimal gathers along the waistline to avoid adding extra volume, but if you prefer a fuller gathered look, cut the bottom piece wider. She also explains that the length you choose can vary from a traditional shirt length to a longer tunic length- it's all up to you!

Most stretch knit fabrics with good drape like Cotton JerseyCotton Lycra, and Hacci Sweater Knits will make lovely peplum tops. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images* of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!
