This tutorial is very easily adjusted to suit your personal style preferences. Autumn explains that she added minimal gathers along the waistline to avoid adding extra volume, but if you prefer a fuller gathered look, cut the bottom piece wider. She also explains that the length you choose can vary from a traditional shirt length to a longer tunic length- it's all up to you!
Most stretch knit fabrics with good drape like Cotton Jersey, Cotton Lycra, and Hacci Sweater Knits will make lovely peplum tops. A few of my picks from the store:
