Tutorial Tuesday :: Long Sleeved Peplum Tee from Merrick's Art

Most of my favorite wardrobe essentials are versatile basics that I can dress up or dress down, so I was thrilled to find this Long Sleeved Peplum Tee Sewing Tutorial from Merrick of Merrick's Art that is both cozy and stylish. In a basic stripe, as shown here, this top is fabulous for everyday wear, but you could also try sewing it in a bold floral or a fun novelty print for a one-of-a-kind look. Click here for the entire tutorial and happy sewing!

For the majority of her sewing tutorials, Merrick uses existing garments from her closet to create custom fit patterns. If you've never done this before, she and Leanne Barlow of Elle Apparel put together this helpful video tutorial as part of their Modern Girl's Sewing Program.

Merrick uses Ponte de Roma to make her lovely peplum top, but you could also try Cotton Jersey, Cotton Lycra, and many more stretch knit fabrics. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images* of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!
*Please note that all images submitted are subject for Girl Charlee promotional use.

Happy Sewing!
