Tutorial Tuesday :: How to Make an Agnes Dress from Tilly and the Buttons

Tilly and the Buttons Agnes Top Sewing Pattern is an incredibly popular knit t-shirt because it is easy sew and includes many customization opportunities, and now Tilly and her team have come up with a simple pattern hack for even more options. This How to Make an Agnes Dress Tutorial from Tilly and the Buttons teaches readers how to add a gathered skirt to their Agnes top to turn it into a dress based on personal measurements and style preferences. Click here for the entire tutorial and happy sewing!

If you don't already own Tilly and the Buttons Agnes Top Sewing Pattern, you can order this and many more Indie Sewing Patterns at Girl Charlee today!

To create the gathered style, Tilly describes how to sew rows of gather stitches along the top edge of the skirt and then how to properly pull them until the skirt evenly fits the top. Be sure to pull the threads from both ends so that you don't pull them out of the garment while you gather.

Suggested fabrics for the Agnes include Cotton Jersey and Cotton Lycra knits. A few of my picks from the store:
