Tutorial Tuesday :: Easy Beach Cover-Up from She's Got The Notion

As the weather continues to warm, we are entering into swim season! My favorite way to celebrate the Summer is by making all new beachwear, like this Easy Beach Cover-Up Tutorial from Nicole of She's Got The Notion. This project is incredibly stylish and takes under an hour from start to finish, so you can whip up several cover ups that will match your swimsuits just in time for that pool party or beach trip. Happy Sewing!

What I love most about this tutorial is that it is so easy to make. You simply attach a front and back piece and cinch the waistline with elastic- THAT'S IT! Nicole notes that hemming is completely optional because knits do not fray, but she chose to hem hers for a professional finish.

Depending on the look and feel that you want, you can sew your swim cover up in just about any stretch knit fabric. Nicole made hers in a lightweight cotton jersey, but you can also try using a French Terry to help absorb water. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!

Happy Sewing!
