Tutorial Tuesday :: Boxy Cuffed Tee from Makery

Fast and easy-to-sew tops like this Boxy Cuffed Tee Tutorial from Portia Lawrie of Makery, are the perfect types of projects for those with busy schedules. This adorable tee consists of 2 squares of fabrics (front and back) and bands for the sleeves, hem, and neckline. That's it! Sewn in a drapey fabric, this boxy-styled tee will become a go-to for weekend errands, shopping trips, and more!

Portia illustrates each step in making her shirt with clear photographs like this one. When cutting her scoop neck, she measured about 8" wide and 1.5" deep, but you could customize your neckline to fit your preferences.

A lightweight knit fabric with good drape like cotton jersey and cotton lycra blends will be perfect for your new tee! A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!

Happy Sewing!
