Tutorial Tuesday :: Simple Summer Tank with FREE Sewing Pattern from Life Sew Savory

The weather is starting to warm up and that means it is almost time to put away our jackets and pull out the tank tops. When looking for a new tank tutorial, I stumbled across this Simple Summer Tank with FREE Sewing Pattern from Emily of Life Sew Savory, originally Nap-Time Creations. With sizes ranging from XS-XXL, this free sewing pattern is perfect for many different body types. Enjoy!

When attaching the neck band, you want to make sure that it is about 1-2" shorter than the neckline so you can stretch it slightly when pinning in place. Once attached, you can top stitch the neckline for a professional appearance, but this step is not required.

This tank would be perfect to sew in a light to medium weight knit with good stretch, like a cotton jersey or cotton lycra. In Emily's example, she uses two complimentary fabrics for the front and back of her tank, so this would be a fun opportunity to play with mixing different prints and colors. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!

Happy Sewing!
