Tutorial Tuesday :: Easy Swing Dress DIY from The Sewing Rabbit

With Easter just a few days away, I wanted to find a dress that would be both stylish and easy to make, and this Easy Swing Dress DIY from The Sewing Rabbit is just what I need! Great for many different occasions with a fun color blocked bodice and full circle skirt, this is sure to become a favorite. Jessica takes you every step of the way in drafting your perfectly fitting dress by using a tank top from your closet and a little math. Enjoy!

Jessica's tutorial is incredibly easy to follow because there is a corresponding image to every written step. This is the perfect project to sew up in an afternoon.

Any knit fabrics with a good amount of stretch (i.e. cotton lycra, brushed poly spandex, and ponte de roma) will be perfect for this swing dress. If you decide to color block the bodice like Jessica did, you only need a 1/2 yard for the contrast fabric so I recommend shopping through our precut half yards. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!

Happy Sewing!
