Tutorial Tuesday :: Busy Kid Bib T-Shirt from Misusu Patterns for Sew Mama Sew

For this week's tutorial, we have the Busy Kid Bib T-Shirt Tutorial and FREE Sewing Pattern from Elles Lanfer of Misusu Patterns for Sew Mama Sew. Whether you are making a holiday gift or are adding to your little ones wardrobes, this shirt is the perfect year-round staple for both girls and boys. And the relaxed fit makes playtime easier then ever! Enjoy!

For this project, Elles does suggest using a serger if you have one, as it creates a stretchable finished seam, but you can also use a zig zag (or other stretch) stitch on your regular sewing machine. Before starting, be sure to practice on a test swatch of fabric to figure out your perfect settings.

Look at how adorable these two are in their bib tees!

For this shirt you need a knit with at least 25% stretch. I would recommend starting your search with cotton jersey, cotton lycra, french terry, and ponte de roma knits. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!

Happy Sewing!
