Tutorial Tuesday :: 10 T-Shirt Refashions from See Kate Sew

One of my favorite DIY projects is to turn everyday basic items into fun and unique creations! With the New Year just around the corner, I want to do just that by re-vamping some of the existing pieces in my wardrobe. I was pleased to find that Kate of See Kate Sew recently put together this 10 T-Shirt Hack Sewing Tutorial! Below are a few of my favorites from her list, each paired with perfect Girl Charlee Fabrics to use, and you can see the entire tutorial at SeeKateSew.com. Enjoy!

Kate made her adjustments on store bought t-shirts, but if you wanted to sew up your own shirts you could alter your favorite indie sewing pattern to have the same effect. Here are a few of our favorite women's indie shirt sewing patterns from the shop ::

Contrast Sleeves are one of the easiest and most popular ways of transforming an everyday tee into a fun wardrobe staple in your closet. Try to mix and match stripes, solids, and prints in unexpected ways to create a one-of-a-kind look! A few of my picks from the store:

With its unique texture and aesthetic, Vegan Leather Fabric is the perfect accent piece on many different projects, including this playful Bow Back Tee! You can layer an undershirt like Kate does here, or leave the back exposed for an alluring edge. A few of my picks from the store:

To make your tee more feminine, recreate this Flowy Lace Back Tee with Designer Stretch Lace Fabric. Gathered at the top, the lace drapes down in a swingy delicate manner. A few of my picks from the store:

We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!

Happy Sewing!
