Tutorial Tuesday :: How To Make A Wrap Cardigan from DIY Maternity

A close friend of mine is expecting and this time of year is especially busy, so I have to whip up a quick baby shower gift!  I recently stumbled upon this cute How To Make A Wrap Cardigan Tutorial from Megan Nielsen of Megan Nielsen Sewing Patterns for DIY Maternity, a collective blog written by many incredibly talented women that is full of resources to help readers make their own maternity and nursing wear. Perfect to make in a sweater knit for the cooler weather, and it can be styled in many different ways, this is exactly what I need!

This tutorial is very easy to follow, with basic illustrations that pair with the written instruction. The pattern included is loose-fitting and works well for most sizes, and if you do need to adjust the fit, Megan suggests comparing the sleeve and back pieces to an existing cardigan in your wardrobe.
This cardigan can be sewn in just about any stretch knit fabric, but for the cooler Fall and Winter months I would suggest starting your search with hacci sweater knits. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!

Happy Sewing!
