Tutorial Tuesday :: Shawl Collar Cardigal from Sew Country Chick

Wrap up and stay warm in this DIY Shawl Collar Cardigan from Justine of Sew County Chick. Justine takes you step-by-step in drafting your own high-low sweater pattern, and once you see just how easy it is to make, you will want to make multiple versions in different prints, stripes, and solids. This cardigan is the perfect Fall wardrobe staple, as it can be layered with various coordinating garments for a unique look every time! Enjoy!

If you have never drafted your own pattern this is a great one to start with, as Justine takes you every step of the way with written instruction paired with clear and simple illustrations. Sewing your cardigan pieces together will be a breeze!

Depending on how you want your sweater to drape and feel, you could sew it up in just about any knit!  I would recommend starting your search with ponte de roma, hacci sweater, and cotton lycra knits.  A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!

Happy Sewing!
