Tutorial Tuesday :: Fabulous Bathrobe Tutorial from Melly Sews

Step up your morning routine with Melissa of Melly Sews and her fabulous Vintage Robe using her Sew a Robe Tutorial. This robe is absolutely adorable and will not only keep you cozy, but it will also make you feel like an old time Hollywood starlet as you perfect your look for the day! No matter how rushed your morning may be, you are sure to get through it in style. Enjoy!

When making the collar, you can do as Melissa did and show off some beautiful embroidery, or use a contrasting fabric for both the collar and sash for a funky and unique look! You can see that Melissa has used this robe tutorial to create flowy and light, as well cozy and warm robes, with both being equally stunning.

This robe can be made in just about any fabric. Try sewing yours up in a light-mid weight cotton jerseycotton lycra, french terry, or a specialty woven fabric to keep it flowy and fun. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy Sewing!
