Tutorial Tuesday :: The Two Seam Dress from Megan Nielsen

With Mother's Day fast approaching, one of my friend's asked me for some help sewing up a dress that would work with her growing baby bump. Megan Nielsen brings us this Two Seam Dress tutorial that is both comfortable and figure flattering for growing bellies. This loose, drapey dress is also fabulous to wear post-baby and for everyone else out there in need of a fun simple dress. Enjoy!

Megan provides easy to follow illustrations to help make this simple dress look polished and professional. She suggests adding a cool asymmetrical hemline to make the dress just that much more special.

This two seam dress can be sewn in many different fabrics but something light weight with good drape like a cotton jersey blend, a cotton lycra blend, or a lycra spandex would work best. A few of my picks from the store:

We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy Sewing!
