Tutorial Tuesday :: Easy Maxi Dress DIY from The Sewing Rabbit

One fashion trend and wardrobe essential that will never go out of style is a basic maxi dress. When searching for the perfect tutorial, I stumbled upon this gorgeous maxi that I can hardly wait to sew up! For this weeks Tutorial Tuesday, Jess Abbot of The Sewing Rabbit will take you step by step in making this Easy Maxi Dress DIY. Enjoy!

Jess offers many useful tips in her tutorial to help make this dress perfect and polished. Rather than looking handmade, this dress is amazingly elegant, and can be styled for many different occasions.

Suggested fabrics include medium weight knits like ponte de roma, cotton lycra, and french terry. You could sew up a dress similar to Jess's in a solid knit, or try a fun print! A few of my picks from the store:

Heather Charcoal Solid Ponte de Roma Fabric Denim Black Natural White Stripe French Terry Knit Fabric
Coral Solid Cotton Spandex Knit Fabric

We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy Sewing!
