Tutorial Tuesday :: The Sleepy Robe with FREE Sewing Pattern from Melly Sews

Throughout the month of February we are celebrating sewing for the men and boys in your life and last week we announced our incredible giveaway of $50 to GirlCharlee.com + 8 PDF Indie Sewing Patterns! For this weeks Tutorial Tuesday, we have this Sleepy Robe Tutorial from Melissa Mora of Melly Sews, perfect for your little ones. Melissa even includes a FREE Sewing Patten available in sizes 18m/2T - 7/8, and if you need to resize the pattern, she has the perfect tutorial on how to do so. Enjoy!

When placing the belt loops, be sure to see where they lay on your little one, as you do not want these too high or too low. Once you realize just how easy it is to sew up your own robe, you'll never buy another one again! Sew up a lightweight one for around the house on warm days and a heavier one for the cooler nights.

This robe can be sewn in just about any type of knit fabric, including french terry, cotton jersey, sweatshirt fleece, depending on how you want it to drape and feel. A few of my picks from the store:

We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
