Tutorial Tuesday :: Halloween Sewing Round Up

It's that time of year again! With Halloween just a few weeks away, it's time to get that sewing machine out and let your creativity bloom! While looking for project inspiration, I found several unique and fun sewing tutorials that are perfect to sew up for you and your family. Be sure to also check out Girl Charlee Halloween Fabrics for the perfect prints and colors this season. Enjoy!

Egg-cellent Fried Egg Costume by My Poppet
Cintia of My Poppet put together this extremely creative fried egg costume that is sure to be a huge hit this Halloween! In addition to the adorable nature of this costume, this tutorial is also well thought out and very thorough. To give the yolk depth, for example, Cintia suggests that you can add a small amount of batting. Great idea! A few of my picks from the store:
30-Minute Mermaid Skirt Tutorial by Girl Inspired
These mermaid skirts are perfect for your little one and Stef of Girl Inspired takes you every step of the way in this helpful tutorial, full of both pictures and written instructions. With just 1 yard of knit fabric and less than an hour, you'll soon discover that this is one of the easiest projects to sew! Not to mention that these skirts are great for year round dress up fun. A few of my picks from the store:

DIY Strawberry Costume by Studio DIY
In my household there is no age limit for who can dress up for Halloween. Kelly of Studio DIY has several adult-friendly costume DIYs that are perfect for those who don't have a lot of time to put something together, but still want to participate in the dress up fun. One of my favorites is this strawberry dress tutorial that just requires a simple red dress and some green poster board. A few of my picks from the store:
Super Hero Cape Tutorial by How Does She
Capes are great for Halloween because depending on the color fabric that you choose, your little one can become a whole new super hero. Batman, Superman, or maybe your little ones want to come up with their own super heros! This cape sewing tutorial by Lara of How Does She is so simple to make that you'll want to sew it up again and again. As an added bonus, you could even use two different colors to create a double sided cape. A few of my picks from the store:
Rainbow and Sunshine Tutorial by Brit + Co
I can't get enough of how cute mommy and baby costumes are! Misty of Brit + Co. came up with some great matching costume ideas and my favorite is this darling rainbow and sunshine tutorial. All you need is a little white dress and solid scraps of fabric for mom, and then a yellow onesie with matching headband for baby. A few of my picks from the store:
Katie of A Beautiful Mess put together this tutorial for creating the perfect Peter Pan look with some green sweatshirt fleece and matching green or tan leggings. The tutorial doesn't stop there! Katie also includes tips for matching costumes of The Lost Boys. A few of my picks from the store:
