Tutorial Tuesday :: Sweater Season Tutorials

It may still be 90 degrees in Southern California, but cooler weather is fast approaching, so for this weeks Tutorial Tuesday, we wanted to find the perfect sweater sewing tutorial. We landed on two excellent tutorials, one for you from In Honor of Design and one for your little one from The Sewing Rabbit. Enjoy!

Inspired by the lovely Audrey Hepburn, Anna of In Honor of Design put together this amazing DIY Wrap Around Cape Tutorial. This cape is so stylish that no one will even believe that it's handmade! Detailed instructions in the tutorial take you every step of the way, with both visual elements and written descriptions. Warning :: Your friends will be asking you to make them each one before you know it!

This cape can be sewn up in any medium weight fabric like Ponte de RomaSweatshirt Fleece, or even Denim! A few of my picks from the store:

Alexia of The Sewing Rabbit always makes the cutest garments for her daughter, and now she shared this darling Side Button Sweater DIY. When describing making this sweater, Alexia says "This is probably the easiest garment you could ever make..." And with only 3 simple steps, it really is! You can recreate this adorable sweater in no time.

Try making this sweater in our Hacci Sweater, French Terry, Ponte de Roma, and more! A few of my picks from the store:

We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
