Tutorial Tuesday :: Maxi Skirt Tutorial from Sew Much Ado

Maxi Skirts are so on trend right now because they are just as stylish as they are comfortable to wear. For this weeks Tutorial Tuesday, we have this lovely Maxi Skirt Sewing Tutorial by Abby Smith of Sew Much Ado, and it is such an easy sew that you will want to make it again and again. Though this skirt is very forgiving, I love that Abby provides detailed instructions on how to obtain your measurements for the perfect fit.

One unique characteristic about this particular maxi skirt is that it is broken up into panels, creating a tiered look. In her tutorial, Abby also mentions a couple of ways to customize your skirt further by shortening the length of each panel or adjusting them for more of a flared look. With so many options available, I can hardly wait to sew one up!

Most knit fabrics with stretch (i.e. Cotton JerseyCotton LycraPonte de Roma) would be perfect for sewing up this skirt. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
