Tutorial Tuesday :: Girl's Tank Top with FREE Sewing Pattern from Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom

Now that the weather is starting to warm up, it's time to get that summer wardrobe together! In searching for the perfect summer sews for my family, I found this cute and easy Girls' Knit Tank Top Sewing Tutorial from Jamie Sanders from Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom. Added bonus? It includes a FREE Sewing Pattern for sizes 3 to 8!

When attaching the binding, Jaime's sewing machine would pull on the fabric, so she used a piece of tissue under the fabric to help get it started. Sometimes a scrap piece of paper or tissue is all you need to help feed your fabric through.

This tutorial is great for beginners because it thoroughly explains how to attach binding for the collar and arm holes with step-by-step pictures.

Any knit fabrics with good stretch, like Cotton Jersey and Cotton Lycra knits, are perfect for sewing tank tops. Start your search with Girl Charlee New Arrivals for a huge selection of on-trend knits. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
