Girl Charlee Knitriffic Blogs :: Melly Sews

Our January Knitriffic Blog features Melly Sews, a sewing blog written by the uber creative Melissa Mora. Melly Sews is true to its motto- Dream, Learn, Make- because it genuinely inspires and teaches sewists of all levels to create new projects. In Melissa's words, "This blog is an ever-growing collection of teachings through projects, patterns, sharing and inspiration to get the things you want to make out of your head and into closets and homes."
My favorite thing about Melly Sews is that Melissa offers tutorials on almost anything you can think of! Some of the general sewing tutorials include how to hem anything, how to make sewing patterns bigger or smaller, and how to measure kids for sewing clothes. In addition, there are several tutorials (and free sewing patterns!) for specific projects, like bias trimmed shorts for women, a pleated collar women's t-shirt, and a button shoulder raglan tee for kids. There is something for everyone on this blog!
Another thing that I love about Melissa's blog is that she creates a sewing community by having fellow bloggers guest post onto Melly Sews. To see Girl Charlee Fabrics sewn up with a couple of Blank Slate Sewing Patterns, check out these posts from Sew A Straight Line and Sew Charleston.
If you have a favorite sewing blog let us know all about it in the comments, or email gcblog@girlcharlee.com and we might feature it in our next Knitriffic Blogs post!

Happy sewing!
