Tutorial Tuesday :: Simple Blouson Dress by One Little Momma

One of my goals for this coming new year is to sew more for myself.  It is such a reward to sew up and wear a made-by-me creation, but one that seems to always be last on the list each week.  I love the blouson look as it is comfortable, form flattering, and can be made in a variety of different prints and fabrics.  I found this Simple Blouson Dress by Kilee of One Little Momma which uses your own blouse or dress to create the pattern.  Grab some fabrics from Girl Charlee and start your new year off with this easy and fun dress!
Kilee makes drafting your own pattern a breeze.  All you need to get started is a loose fitting dress or blouse to trace.  She leaves a one inch seam allowance as shown.  Just be be extra careful when cutting the fabric.

Try one of our new cotton spandex knits to make this dress! You can also sew this versatile dress up in one of our Hacci sweater knitsspecialty woven, or cotton jersey fabrics:

We hope you enjoy this tutorial!  We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
