Tutorial Tuesday :: Lizzy Peplum Tutorial and Sewing Pattern by Shwin & Shwin

This week's Tutorial Tuesday comes from the lovely Shwin & Shwin blog.  Written by sisters Shauna and Morgan this blog is chock full of free sewing patterns and tutorials with beautiful photographs. We found this sweet free PDF pattern and tutorial on how to make a Lizzy Peplum light weight knit jacket, which would be just perfect for your upcoming Holiday festivities!
Do not fear the zipper!  Included are some easy instructions to attach the zipper easily.  Make sure the zipper edge matches up with the raw edge of the front, and the zipper teeth are facing down.  Next match the bottom edge of the zipper to the bottom edge of the ruffle.  Sew as close to the zipper teeth as you can, sewing all the way up to the top of the neck.  Sew up the same way on the other side and you are done!
The best choices for this light weight jacket would be a Cotton Jersey or Cotton Lycra knit fabric. Try a fun floral to match the Shwin & Shwin look, or mix it up a little bit! A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial and please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
