Tutorial Tuesday :: Pippa Peplum Pattern Remix by A Lemon Squeezy Home

For Tutorial Tuesday this week we partnered with the super talented Christie from A Lemon Squeezy Home to feature her remix tutorial using the See Kate Sew Pippa Peplum sewing pattern!  Her pattern remix tutorial demonstrates how to change this sewing pattern by giving it an empire waistline and adding contrasting neck and arm bands.  Christie sewed up two variations for her girls and they both look incredible!

The first step is deciding on the length that you'd like your finished project to be (top, tunic, or dress). As you can see here, Christie made hers in two different lengths. Once you print the sewing pattern in the desired size, cut the bodice below the armhole so that there is 1/2" left underneath, and then follow the pattern to attach the skirt portion to the bodice.
When sewing the neck and arm bands, be careful not to stretch the bodice. Christie suggests checking out this post from Made by Rae for helpful instructions on adding a neckband if you've never sewn a neckband before.
These girls look so cute in their new outfits! Great job Christie!
Get the pattern here at Girl Charlee and grab some fabrics and get sewing your own!
Any knit fabric with a good stretch to it (i.e. Cotton Jersey, Cotton Spandex, or Ponte De Romawill be perfect for this tutorial. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial and please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
