Girl Charlee Fabrics is very excited to announce the arrival of Thread Theory Designs sewing patterns to our store! Thread Theory Designs, created by the Canadian duo Morgan and Matt, currently consists of five exceptional menswear sewing patterns that each include several customizable solutions. Here is a little more information about Thread Theory Designs.

Thread Theory Designs
Morgan and Matt began Thread Theory Designs in 2012 as a menswear sewing pattern company that strives to provide sewers with inspiring designs, accurate patterns, and easy to follow instructions for their menswear sewing projects. Thread Theory patterns are your go to patterns when you are looking to create garments with a modern fit and an emphasis on quality construction details.
We partnered up with Morgan and Matt to sew up the Strathcona Henley with one of our fun ethnic prints. Who says menswear has to be boring?  Along with the sew up tutorial, one lucky winner will win a $30 gift card to girlcharlee.com so you can try your hand out on sewing up one of these great new patterns for the man in your life.  Read the full tutorial and contest information on the Thread Theory Blog.  But hurry! The winner will be selected Friday, July 18th.
Morgan talks about the experience of sewing with and lining up a printed fabric accordingly. She and Matt figured it out as they went along and strategically decided which parts of the print would fall on the neckline, the end of the sleeves, and the hem. "It's all a game of balance!" The end result looks absolutely incredible!

For men who would like to stay cozy but look stylish - this shawl collar cardigan can look trendy or classic depending on the fabric choice. The sweater is slim fitting with long cuffed sleeves and a flattering fold-over shawl style collar. This piece sews up quickly in a forgiving knit and features several customizable details such as a shoulder and back yoke (easily included or left out), small or large collar, and decorative top-stitching. It is a classic garment that lends itself to creating the perfect casual, hand-made wardrobe for an active lifestyle.

This modern, slim-fitting t-shirt pattern is a wardrobe staple that can be sewn up with a crew-neck or a 1” henley placket and long or short sleeves. It would suit both fine or medium weight knits to create either a shirt or light sweater. The sleeves and hem can be turned and hemmed or finished with bands (a great option for beginner sewers!). Instructions for sewing with knits are thorough and include finishing suggestions, step-by-step illustrations and both beginner or intermediate sewing options. This pattern is a modern slim-fitting design with athletic sizing.

These form-fitting trunks are designed with comfort in mind. No center back seam, a reinforced inseam gusset and a shaped front cup make these boxers fit like a second skin without the worry of rubbing or shifting. Short, athletic legs and a smooth elastic waistband create a streamlined silhouette that can be worn under everything from slim fit pants to gym shorts. This pattern is a hard-wearing design with a classic fit made to be comfortable and stylish and ready for the next adventure! Pattern has men's waist sizes 24 through 45.
