Tutorial Tuesday :: DIY Swimsuit Cover-Up by SimpLy Modish

Springtime is here and we just got our summer beach trips all booked, wooohooo!  I still have my goal to make the perfect swimsuit this season (will definitely post that here) and along with it a perfectly perfect swimsuit coverup.  We all have seen the Victoria Secret cover up version that actually covers, yet still has a sassy front and exposed back, and can actually be used to dry yourself or layout on, but this version from Ly at SimpLy Modish is the bomb!  Check out this easy to follow video tutorial on how to make a stylish swimsuit cover-up on a budget with both a sew and no sew version.
A lot of Ly's supply tips are so great because she uses objects found around the house. For instance, she uses a bowl to shape the arm holes and she uses rubber bands to help keep the strap braid in place.
The back and front of the cover-up matches perfectly with a Victoria's Secret style.  Why pay $50 when you can make it yourself for around $6? As Ly says, this project is "easy, simple, and fabulous." I couldn't have worded it better myself!!

A thicker, more absorbent knit would be best for this cover up.  I recommend a french terry or a nylon spandex for this project, and we just added to the store the most AMAZING cotton modal lycra french terry that are perfect for this application.
