Tutorial Tuesday :: Jewel Neck Dress from Excessively Sew

High necklines can be incredibly elegant to wear, and this weeks Tutorial Tuesday features a stunning Jewel Neck Dress Tutorial from Brenda of Excessively Sew. Because this dress is as comfortable as it is stylish you are sure to reach for it in your closet again and again. With just a couple yards of your favorite knit fabric and this free tutorial, learn how to take your own measurements and draft your very own perfectly fitting sewing pattern. Enjoy!

This tutorial is great for sewists of all experience levels because Brenda helps you every step of the way, with clear photographs and coordinating text descriptions. For her dress she utilizes a serger, but you can absolutely use your zig zag or other preferred stretch stitch on your regular sewing machine.

Stretch knit fabrics will be perfect for recreating this dress, and I suggest starting your search with Cotton LycraPonte de Roma, and Cotton Jersey. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next Knit Picks!

Happy Sewing!
