Mamma Can Do It Swaddling Blanket Sewing Pattern ::
If you have researched swaddling blankets, you know how incredibly expensive they can be...especially for a cute one. With my budget friendly ideas you can make one of these swaddling blankets for cheap and even free! With this pattern it's easy! Really easy.

Mamma Can Do It Ruffled Diaper Cover Sewing Pattern ::
This is a sewing pattern to make your own ruffled diaper covers. The ruffles are optional, so you could easily make this design for a little boy too. Please note that this pattern is not meant for cloth diapering - it is a decorative diaper cover that is meant to cover up an existing diaper. Make a ruffled diaper cover to match any top or dress. Any outfit or simply have your baby wear one with a headband! Great photo prop too!

You can make your own women's clothing. Sew a beautiful full skirt dress with this Ladies Dress Sewing Pattern. No zippers or buttons, and fitted to the body. Ladies dress pattern uses woven fabric (such as quilting fabric) to add some beautiful clothes to your wardrobe. This dress slips over the head for an easy and comfortable fit each and every time. The elastic in the waist keeps the dress feeling comfortable yet form fitting. The dress sewing pattern also has a beautiful and modest neckline so that you can feel confident in all circumstances. The length of this dress is easily adjusted to fit to where you are feeling most comfortable. The full skirt dress is very forgiving of extra curves, yet flatters the good curves that you want to show. It also includes the bust darts for comfort and elegance.

Mamma Can Do It Onesie Sewing Pattern ::
Sewing a whole stash of baby onesies couldn't be easier with this onesie sewing pattern. With no sleeves to cut or sew into place, no lapped shoulders to measure and only two pieces of binding to manuever, this is the fastest and easiest onesie sewing pattern available. The onesie fits great over disposable and cloth diapers (all of the pictures shown are with a cloth diaper).

Tutorial Tuesday :: The Two Seam Dress from Megan Nielsen

With Mother's Day fast approaching, one of my friend's asked me for some help sewing up a dress that would work with her growing baby bump. Megan Nielsen brings us this Two Seam Dress tutorial that is both comfortable and figure flattering for growing bellies. This loose, drapey dress is also fabulous to wear post-baby and for everyone else out there in need of a fun simple dress. Enjoy!

Megan provides easy to follow illustrations to help make this simple dress look polished and professional. She suggests adding a cool asymmetrical hemline to make the dress just that much more special.

This two seam dress can be sewn in many different fabrics but something light weight with good drape like a cotton jersey blend, a cotton lycra blend, or a lycra spandex would work best. A few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial! We love to see what you sew up so please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy Sewing!
