Girl Charlee Fabrics Knitty News :: Wardrobe Essentials Part 4

Welcome to the last installment of our Knit-tastic Wardrobe Essentials blog series!  We have kicked off the New Year with weekly posts discussing the basic teethe sweater and cardigan, and the pencil skirt wardrobe essentials to help you create the complete handmade wardrobe that is wearable for the entire year.  With part 4 we bring you - the Leggings.

Leggings are probably the most comfortable garment anyone can own, and if I could get away with wearing them everyday, I would! In addition to comfort, leggings are also a fun and easy item to sew. Also with leggings you can choose from basic solids to playful printed fabrics that are not normally available with regular pants.  So get sewing your leggings in your favorite florals, ethnics, plaids and then pair them with a basic sold tee or blouse and you'll be ready to go.

Below are a few of our favorite leggings sewing tutorials to help get you started. Enjoy!

A knit fabric with a good amount of stretch, i.e. cotton lycra and lycra spandex, is ideal for creating the perfect fitting leggings. For a more edgy look, you could also sew up your new leggings in one of our stretch vegan leather fabrics! A few of my picks from the store ::
