Tutorial Tuesday :: Jegging Tutorial by The Itinerant Seamstress

After lounging all last week in my Comfy Pants from the last Tutorial Tuesday, I decided that this week's Tutorial Tuesday needed to include some bottoms that can be worn out and about!  Since we now carry Stretch Knit Denim, sewing up some stylish "jeggings" is a must. I searched high and low to find a blog that gave the best tutorial on how to make this style and found this fantastic, and very thorough, two-part post on The Itinerate Seamstress on how to turn a leggings pattern into denim jeggings.  Enjoy!

Masha of The Itinerant Seamstress has a wonderful two-part blog post on how to Turn Leggings To Jeggings. Part one is all about the pattern, and it shows you how to turn a leggings pattern into a jeggings pattern.
Part two shows you how to sew up the pants. Masha adds pockets to the front and back of her jeggings to make them extra cute and functional! She also adds a faux fly to give the jeggings even more of a "jeans" look.
Any of our Stretch Knit Denim would be perfect for this pattern. You can also choose to stick with a Cotton Spandex knit fabric. Here are a few of my picks from the store:
We hope you enjoy this tutorial and please send 1-2 images of any project you make with Girl Charlee Fabrics to gcblog@girlcharlee.com and you might see your creation featured in our next KnitPicks!

Happy sewing!
