Girl Charlee Fabrics Knitty News :: Seeking Pattern Testers!

Some of you may not know this about Girl Charlee, but we originally were a small sweet clothing line that was made from vintage fabrics and trims.  As the line developed some knits were thrown into the mix, and a few years later here we are.  So!  It is now with great excitement that I announce that the Girl Charlee Pattern Collection is in the works!  The first PDF pattern to be featured in the collection is the super sweet Girl Charlee Vintage Puff Sleeve Tunic Top, and we are currently seeking seamstresses who are interested in testing it out!
We will provide the pattern and fabric needed to complete the top.  We are looking for sewers who have experience with both knits and wovens, and are willing to complete the garment one week after receiving the pattern and supplies.  Once you've finished the project, we will need photos of your final product to use on the Girl Charlee website (with your permission), along with feedback on the pattern.  After the pattern is launched you will receive the finished pattern, be featured in our launch roundup, and be a part of our pattern focus group for subsequent pattern launches!
Interested? Please email GCblog@GirlCharlee.com the following information:
  1. Name
  2. Blog URL or a few photos of clothing you've sewn up
  3. The size you are interested in testing (12 month, 18 month, 2T, 3T, 4T, 5, or 6)
  4. Your sewing level (based on the following)
  5. The type of sewing machines you have (straight stitch machine, serger, cover stitch) and proficiency with each.
Beginners ::  You've sewn up pillow cases, simple curtains, or something similar and can follow a simple sewing pattern.
Intermediate :: You know how to attach zippers and buttonholes, set in sleeves, and can sew patterns at a moderate difficulty level.
Advanced ::  You can sew complicated patterns, make adaptations to patterns, and have attempted to draft your own.  You are comfortable with finishing techniques and have experience with techniques required for tailoring, evening wear and draping.
Expert :: You are experienced with pattern drafting, working with couture techniques and fabrics, and advanced fitting.

I will be contacting candidates over the next two weeks to discuss further details.  I am thrilled to start offering Girl Charlee Sewing Patterns and couldn't be happier to have your help with this new chapter!

Happy sewing!
~ Heather
